A friendly beginner DSLR with a flip-out touchscreen. It takes both EF and EF-S lenses, so cheap and excellent lenses are easy to find.
Great first camera. Keep ISO at 1600 or below when you can — above that the picture gets noticeably grainy. Use the viewfinder for moving subjects; live view focuses more slowly.
