What an affiliate link is
Some links to shops on PhotoStart are affiliate links. If you buy something after following one, the shop may pay us a small commission. The price you pay is exactly the same.
How it affects our advice
It doesn't. Equipment suggestions come from fixed rules based on your camera, lens, subject, lighting and budget. We never sort recommendations by how much a shop pays, and we will happily tell you that you don't need to buy anything.
Prices
Prices are entered by hand and shown together with the date they were last checked. They are a rough guide, not a live price. Always check the current price at the shop.
Sponsored placements
If a product placement is ever paid for, it is clearly labelled 'Sponsored' and is kept separate from organic recommendations.
What we track
We count anonymous clicks so we know which guides are useful. We do not store personal data for this and we do not send your personal data to shops.
