Clean, bright rooms with straight walls. A tripod does most of the work.
Lenses that suit this: Wide angle: 10-18mm on APS-C, 16-24mm on full frame.
The guide
Starting point
ISO 100, f/7.1–f/11, shutter to suit the light, on a tripod. Use the 2-second timer so pressing the button does not shake the camera.
Keep lines straight
Hold the camera level and at about chest height. Tilting up or down makes walls lean inwards.
Bracketing / HDR
Take the same frame darker, normal and brighter, then blend them. This keeps both the room and the bright window visible.
Lights on or off
Try both. Mixed daylight and warm lamps can make colours look odd, so shoot RAW to fix white balance later.
