Isolate subject

Remove the clutter

Isolation is mostly about framing: a long lens, a wide opening and a background with nothing in it.

How to get it

  1. 1

Use the longest focal length you have and the widest aperture.

  2. 2

Find a plain background — a wall, sky or distant trees.

  3. 3

Fill the frame with the subject rather than cropping later.
